Minimising our environmental footprint is important. We work hard to protect, create and maintain habitats for the wide variety of native species that live in and around our mining areas.
Alkane’s exploration, mining, processing and rehabilitation activities are carefully designed with wildlife safety and low environmental impact in mind. We practice progressive rehabilitation and safe environmental practices.

Since mining operations at Peak Hill Gold Mine ceased in 2005, Alkane has demonstrated considerable success in rehabilitating the landforms across the site.
Our efforts have resulted in an increasingly species-rich environment, with several native bird and mammal species, not present pre-mining, now thriving.
